Domestic Violence Hurts Animals & People (DVHAP) is a Hawaii Island based nonprofit aimed at encouraging Big Island residents to #RefusePetAbuse by offering support in the following areas:
Network and develop alliances with animal and domestic violence groups.
Community outreach, education and support.
Advocacy through working with elected officials for funding and regulations.
MISSION STATEMENT: We strive to bring harmony to families and a voice to those who cannot speak through public policy action and awareness campaigns that educate our children on positive relations with animals.
Animal Abuse and domestic violence. When one is present, the other is usually lurking behind closed doors.
